Bill Hillier (????-) is a professor of architecture and urban planning. During the 1970s he began a study to better understand the failure of public housing projects in Great Britain. His pioneering research accomplished this and more. With the help of Julienne Hanson, he developed the theoretical basis for space syntax, a concept that has not only improved architecture but also influenced the social sciences in recent years.
